Summer break is exciting for kids—but for parents, it often comes with the challenge of finding activities that are fun, enriching, and capable of keeping children engaged week after week.
If you’ve been searching for summer camps in Hudson, NC, kids summer camps near Hickory, or creative activities for children in Caldwell County, you may be wondering:
How much does summer art camp cost?
At the HUB Station Arts Center, our Summer Art Camps are designed to provide kids and teens with hands-on creative experiences all summer long. With camps offered in June, July, and August, families can choose from a variety of themes while giving their children a chance to create, socialize, and take a break from screens.

Why Parents Love Summer Art Camp
Many parents tell us they’re looking for meaningful ways to keep their children busy during summer break.
Our camps provide structured activities that encourage creativity, social interaction, problem-solving, and self-expression—all without requiring parents to plan projects, purchase materials, or clean up afterward.
While kids are busy creating, parents can enjoy knowing their child is participating in an activity that is both fun and beneficial.
Art camp also gives children and teens something many don’t get enough of during the school year: dedicated time to create. While art classes in school may only meet once a week, summer camp allows young artists to explore new materials, learn new techniques, and discover creative interests in a supportive environment.
Take Summer Back
Remember when summer meant making things, playing outside, and spending time with friends instead of staring at a screen?
Many families today are embracing a return to some of those experiences—encouraging less screen time and more opportunities for creativity, social interaction, and hands-on learning.
Every HUB Station Summer Art Camp is completely screen-free.
Instead of scrolling, students spend their time printing, painting, drawing, building, experimenting, and creating alongside other young artists from across the county.
It’s a chance to unplug, slow down, and rediscover the joy of making something with your own hands.
Small Classes Make a Big Difference
One of the things that makes HUB Station Summer Art Camps unique is our class size.
Each camp is limited to just six students.
That means every child receives personal attention and guidance from their instructor throughout the week. Whether your child has never taken an art class before or already fills sketchbooks at home, our camps are designed to be welcoming, encouraging, and beginner friendly.
Our instructors are professional artists who maintain studios at the HUB Station and/or exhibit their work through the Red Awning Art Gallery. Students learn directly from artists who actively create and share their work with the community.
A Safe and Creative Environment
The HUB Station Arts Center is owned and operated by the Town of Hudson and is located inside a historic school building that has served local families for generations.
Parents are welcome to drop off their children during camp or remain on-site during the class if they prefer. Administrative staff are present during daytime hours, and the facility has access to both an AED and first aid resources.
The HUB Station is home to year-round arts programming for children, teens, and adults, making it a creative community hub for families throughout Hudson, Hickory, Lenoir, Granite Falls, and the surrounding area.
