Are you looking for an exciting and enriching experience for your young artists? Our weekly youth mixed media art classes, taught by the talented Beverly Mihelich, are the perfect opportunity! Whether your child is a beginner or already loves making art, these classes are designed to ignite creativity, spark imagination, and help young artists explore a wide range of artistic techniques.

Meet the Artist: Beverly Mihelich
Born in a small town in southeast Texas, Beverly Mihelich—known fondly as Bev—brings a lifetime of experiences and creativity to her teaching. From her nomadic childhood to her years of service in the military, Bev has collected a treasure trove of cultural insights and skills that she weaves into her art and lessons. Settling in Kings Creek, NC, in 2004, Bev found a home for her passion for the arts and teaching.

With a BFA in Fiber Art from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a wide range of skills that include everything from embroidery and leather tooling to metalworking and jewelry making, Bev has become a true multimedia artisan. Her philosophy is simple yet inspiring: “My true love is creating adornments for both animate and inanimate objects.” Bev’s classes invite students to explore various materials—new and recycled—to bring their own creative visions to life.

Youth Mixed Media Art Class

Why Mixed Media?
Mixed media art is all about exploring different materials and techniques to create something unique. From paper and paint to string, yarn, beads, and more, students will have the freedom to combine various elements into their artwork. This approach helps young artists develop their creativity, problem-solving skills, and ability to think outside the box. It’s a fantastic way for kids to express themselves, discover new art forms, and gain confidence in their abilities.
