FOOTHILLS VETERANS IN ART – ART EXHITBITION
“Kilroy Was Here” — A Group Show by Foothills Veterans in Art
The Caldwell Arts Council proudly presents Kilroy Was Here, a powerful new exhibition featuring works by members of Foothills Veterans in Art (FVIA). This inspiring collection shines a light on the creativity, courage, and personal stories of local U.S. Veterans who have discovered healing and connection through art.
Since 2022, the Foothills Veterans in Art program has offered free acoustic guitar and visual art classes to area Veterans—complete with instruction, instruments, and supplies. Beyond developing creative skills, FVIA provides a safe, supportive space for Veterans to express themselves, build camaraderie, and experience the joy and healing that come from shared artistic experiences. Participants often find that the arts help strengthen emotional well-being, reduce feelings of isolation, and foster a renewed sense of purpose and self.
Each Veteran’s artistic journey is uniquely their own—but together, their work tells a powerful story of resilience, growth, and community.
Join us for the opening reception on Thursday, November 6 from 5:30–7:30 PM at The HUB Station in Hudson, NC, and help us celebrate these talented artists and the impact of art in their lives.
Foothills Veterans in Art is a program of the Caldwell Arts Council and is supported by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
