THIRD THURSDAY – CONCERT ON THE LAWN – THE NEIGHBORS BAND

The HUB Station’s Third Thursday concert series continues on May 15 with an evening of live music, great food, and community fun. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and settle in for a night of bluegrass, folk, country, and rock-infused melodies.

Featured Band: The Neighbors Band
Taking the stage as the main act is The Neighbors Band, a traditional and modern bluegrass group that blends folk, country, and rock and roll influences. Known for their rich harmonies and high-energy performances, they bring a fresh yet familiar sound to the bluegrass tradition.

Among the talented musicians in the band is Bob Henson on lead vocals and guitar. Originally from Canton, NC, Bob now calls Lenoir home and has been performing for over 43 years. A retired educator from Caldwell County Schools, he now dedicates his time to teaching youth through the Caldwell Arts Council Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM) Program and working with private students. Songwriting is a passion of his, and he finds inspiration in everyday life.

Also performing with the band is Sawyer Whitman on banjo and vocals. A Lenoir native and the youngest member of the group, Sawyer has been making music for 13 years. His skill on the banjo has earned him multiple awards, including wins at the Raymond Fairchild Junior Banjo Competition, Mount Airy Banjo Competition, and Happy Valley Fiddlers Convention Banjo Competition. Formerly with Sweetbriar Jam, he has performed as a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist. Sawyer is also a songwriter and worship leader, crediting his musical abilities to his faith.

On bass, Todd McLoud provides the steady rhythm and rich tones that round out The Neighbors Band’s signature sound.

Opening Performance: Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM) Performance Band
The evening kicks off with a special performance by the Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM) Performance Band. These young musicians celebrate the deep-rooted musical traditions of the Appalachian region, bringing fresh energy to classic songs.

3 Drinks Down will be open from 4-9pm for all your craft beer and wine needs. They have a selection that is unmatched in Hudson! 40+ different craft beverages and 20+ wines. Empire State Deli and Grill will be serving delicious philly cheesesteaks, italian subs, and much more.
