TOWN OF HUDSON MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE

Join Us for Hudson’s Memorial Day Service – Honoring Our Heroes

The Town of Hudson invites you to a heartfelt Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 25th, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the HUB Station Auditorium. This free community event is a special opportunity to come together and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

The ceremony will feature moving tributes, patriotic reflections, and inspiring messages from local veterans and community leaders. Light refreshments will be provided, and families, friends, and neighbors are encouraged to gather, reflect, and celebrate the courage and dedication of our nation’s heroes.

Special Presentation: Stories of Resilience

During the service, participants of Stories of Resilience, a free Veteran Storybook Workshop Series held throughout 2026 at the HUB Station, will receive a hard copy of their completed storybooks at a short presentation ceremony. Veterans in attendance will also have the opportunity to receive a voucher to create their own free storybook through the online platform LifeRootz, the HUB Station’s grant partner for the program. This addition makes the Memorial Day Service a meaningful celebration of both remembrance and storytelling, honoring the voices and experiences of our local veterans.

Calling All Hudson Residents and Veterans!

Help us honor and remember our heroes by submitting photos for a special slideshow to be featured during the service. Please email photos of yourself or your loved ones in military service, including name, branch, and years served (if known), to Addie Faber at addie@townofhudsonnc.com by May 15th.

Inviting All Gold Star and Blue Star Families

Gold Star and Blue Star families are warmly invited to attend as honored guests. Please RSVP to Larry Chapman at slchapman@charter.net so we may properly welcome and recognize your family.

Come show your support and gratitude as we honor those who served and sacrificed. This Memorial Day, let’s stand united in remembrance and celebrate the resilience, courage, and stories of our veterans.

Quilts of Valor

Learn more about the inspiring mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation, a national organization dedicated to honoring service members and veterans touched by war with handmade quilts as symbols of comfort, healing, and gratitude. Founded in 2003 by Catherine Roberts following a powerful dream about the healing impact of quilts, each Quilt of Valor is thoughtfully handcrafted and awarded to say, “Thank you for your service, sacrifice, and valor in serving our nation.” During our Memorial Day Service, we are honored to recognize this meaningful organization and the care they continue to provide to veterans across the country. Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn how to nominate a veteran or service member to receive a Quilt of Valor.
