Synopsis: Described as the “Perfect American Musical” and the “Quintessential American Musical,” “My Fair Lady” is set in London in 1912 and is based on George Bernard Shaw’s play, “Pygmalion.” It tells the story of Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower girl who becomes the subject of a bet between two renowned linguists, Colonel Pickering and Professor Henry Higgins. Higgins wagers that he can teach Eliza to speak proper English so well that she can be passed off as English nobility.

This renowned Lerner and Loewe musical features beloved songs such as “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly,” “The Rain in Spain,” “I Could Have Danced All Night,” “On the Street Where You Live,” “You Did It,” “Get Me to the Church On Time,” and “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face.

Contact: For further information, please contact Director Keith Smith at the Hudson Town Offices at (828) 728-8272.

Director Keith Smith says this promises to be one of the largest, if not the largest, musical ever staged at the HUB Station, in terms of scope, scale, range, and size. This will be the 36th theater production at the HUB Station.

If you have any interest in performing onstage or working backstage, please attend one or both of the auditions. Even if you don’t have any interest in being in the show, save the dates so you can come see it in mid-October.
