FIRST FRIDAY – ARTIST RECEPTION WITH RHONDA SMITH

On Friday, November 1st, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the HUB Station Arts Center will host our next First Friday, a monthly event dedicated to celebrating the arts in the heart of Hudson, NC. Each First Friday, we spotlight a talented artist, showcasing their work with an exhibit and hosting a reception that invites the community to connect with local creators.

This month, we’re thrilled to feature Rhonda Smith, a local artist who has deep roots in Hudson. Rhonda has always been a creative spirit, doodling and sketching her way through life. When the pandemic brought unexpected changes in 2019, Rhonda found herself turning to art with renewed passion. She began creating pieces that reflect both her playful approach to life and her thoughtful, deeply personal reflections—a journey of rediscovery that has culminated in this inspiring exhibit.

What to Expect:

• Art Exhibit & Reception: Rhonda’s collection will be on display in our gallery, showcasing pieces that span her creative journey. The evening includes a welcoming reception where attendees can chat with Rhonda, learn about her artistic process, and hear firsthand about the inspiration behind her work.
• Live Music by MusicSmythe: Adding to the ambiance, MusicSmythe will perform live during the event. As a member of the band, Rhonda will bring her artistic passion to the stage, merging her visual and musical talents in a unique experience for all to enjoy.
• Art, Music, & Community: First Friday is all about connecting people and celebrating the vibrancy of our local art scene. Whether you’re a longtime supporter of the arts or simply curious to explore, this event is a fantastic way to meet local artists, enjoy live music, and take in the creative atmosphere.

Guests can enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres as they mingle, browse the gallery, and meet fellow art lovers. For those looking to relax and socialize, Three Drinks Down Beverage Co. will also be open during the event, offering beverages to enhance your evening experience.

The Artist Reception is free to attend and is open to the public from Hudson, Lenoir, Hickory, Morganton, and across the NC foothills.
